Watch Miss Scuba Diving the Red Sea in HD
Miss Scuba recently got to dive the Red Sea in Sudan courtesy of The Adromeda after exploring the Pyramids of Giza and the famous Khan el Khalili Market in Cairo. Here they explore Jacques Cousteau's underwater village Conshelf II, The Blue Bell and The Umbria. The Blue Bell sank in 1977 and was packed full with Toyotas bound for Sudan. The Umbria was scuttled by it's Italian Captain one hour before Italy entered into WWII. This kept the English from capturing its 360,000 bombs, 60 boxes of detonators and incendiary devices, rifle ammo and 3 Fiat Lungas. Oh yeah, and several thousand bottles of wine. JOURNEY OF THE WEEK: Dive Into a Lava Dome
I recently participated in an expedition to Atlantida Cave in Lanzarote. That gave me the dubious honor of having explored caves created in the coldest and hottest conditions on our planet. It was also a part of my plan to spend part of my winter in the tropics rather than the Siberian outback...
...read her journey about this cool expedition here

    TRAVEL TIP OF THE WEEK:
    BRING THROW AWAY CLOTHES
Before you pack, find out about laundry facilities so you don't over pack. If facilities are not available, take old clothes that you will not miss and throw out after using them. It will provide room for new stuff to take home, said Jacqueline Santos, Guadalajara, Mexico. here

    DIVE GEAR OF THE WEEK:
    THERMALUTION HEATED UNDERSUIT
This electrically powered undersuit designed to keep you warm underwater for around 1.5 to 3 hours(according to different battery model). Completely waterproof, the Thermalution will work under your wetsuit or drysuit while you pull off stunts and perform other activities underwater.

SEVEN YEAR SWITCH inspires this month's  Miss Scuba Giveaway
They say that every seven years a woman becomes a completely different person. Just started reading the novel 'Seven Year Switch' written by Claire Cook. It's an enjoyable piece of Chick Lit in which the main character works for a (fictional) travel company called 'Great Girls Getaways'.

It made me wonder: If you could magically choose the place you'd like to live for the next seven years, tell us in 75 words or less which one it would be and why. Put the words, 'Seven Years' in the subject line and email your answers to info@miss-scuba.com. Contest closes September 15, 2010. We'll publish the best entries and five winners will be drawn at random. Winners will each receive a copy of 'Seven Year Switch.' C'mon ladies ... start thinking.

    TURQUOISE WITH TURTLE NECKLACE

Turquoise has adorned jewelry since ancient Egyptians and has long been treasured for its striking beauty and mystical properties.

Turquoise is believed to bring luck and to possess powers, including the ability to promote wealth, attract love and bring happiness. In ancient Persia it was once believed that the wearing of turquoise talismans would protect the wearer from death. The pendant is 1 inch/2.5cm

In the far east, the turtles shell was a symbol of heaven and the square underside was a symbol of Earth. This meant that the turtle was an animal whose magic united heaven and Earth.
