JOURNEY OF THE WEEK: Why on Earth Did I Become a Tech Diver?
I'd been watching the technological advances from afar, watched what the WKPP and "DIR" divers in Florida were doing in the deep caves, and come to the conclusion that a) equipment was finally where it needed to be, and b) I had a job that could help fund my diving as opposed to diving funding my diving which had lead to burnout.
Knowing that I couldn't just pick up where I left off, I've spent the past 6 years rebuilding myself and my gear to that level of expertise I'd found by doing 450+ dives a year, with a deep wreck or wall done every weekend. When you have a 'real' job, it's much harder to do big dives every weekend :)

TRAVEL TIP OF THE WEEK: THE PROPER WAY TO TAKE PICTURES OF LOCALS
Bring small tokens from home to give to the locals. I usually keep a stack of postcards from home, or even pictures I've taken of home to give out to locals. I will generally trade the pictures or the postcards for them allowing me to take a picture of them. I've also found that carrying my fujifilm instant camera helps me in a great number of these cases as I allow them to take a picture that they can keep and they will then be more comfortable when I photograph them, said Nicci Freeman, California.Read more travel tips here
DIVE GEAR OF THE WEEK: DRY CASE Waterproof phone, camera and music player case
I use it all the time around water. It gets me motivated and pumped up to listen ACDC during my swim workouts yet relaxing and tranquille to chill to Morcheba between dives on a boat. Using the DryCASE elevated my fear of getting my iPhone wet. The DryCASE became my new best friend as I spend so much time in and around water.! See more dive related gear here

Care for your Silver Jewelry |
Silver jewelry is beautiful and offers great durability. However, with any exposure to humidity, silver will tarnish. This tarnish will quickly build, leaving you with a dark black coating in place of your shiny silver. Use an old toothbrush and gently rub toothpaste into your silver, leave it on for ten minutes and then wash it off. Job done. Easiest, fastest way to clean silver jewelry.
