Hello from Miss-Scuba.com,

November is a month filled with anticipation. It is time to slow down after a busy summer and enjoy candle lit evenings, a cup of tea and a good book on the sofa or gathering around home cooked meals with friends and family. It is also custom at the end of the month, to give thanks (at least in the USA) for things we feel blessed about.

Every year I give thanks for the same thing, for my health. "Health is Everything," my mother always says. One can do anything she sets her mind to do while she is healthy. Often we have no idea how important it really is until we have it no more. As for Miss Scuba, I am also thankful for having ladies like you contribute to our web site, join us on journeys to far away places and proudly wear our hand made jewelry and colorful apparel. It gives me reason to carry on with this project.

Thought we will try something a little unconventional and fun for the holidays and featured a fun wine shopping guide from one of my favorite sommelier, Natalie MacLean. "You look like you spent a bundle on the gift (even if you didn't) and the recipients are happy that you think they know something about wine (even if they don't)." So, get a glass of hot red wine, put your feet up and read on...

Wines for the Top 10 Tough-To-Buy-For People on Your Holiday List

Pairing wines with personalities for gift shoppers - there's an app for that (and a web site).

This holiday season, anyone can tap into MacLean's expertise via her free web site and mobile apps for iPhone, BlackBerry, Droid and other smartphones. They help consumers with a whole new type of pairing: wine with the people on your Christmas shopping list. The app and site also pair wines to thousands of dishes, including holiday favorites, such as turkey, goose, duck, and even partridge in a pear tree.

"When you give wine, doubles are fine, there are no wrong sizes and you can always find something good in stock," MacLean adds. "Vintage gifts will get anyone into the holiday spirits."

TRAVEL TIP OF THE WEEK: PACK SOME POWER BARS

(or the like) in case the hotel has no room service etc. for those hunger cravings. Don't assume that even if the town has a store, that the food will be fresh especially not in third world towns! Pack a few small items (powerbars, package oatmeal, cereal bars, etc.) Every time I have brought them they went within a few days, said Valentina Lomborg-Lumkin, Redondo Beach, CA.  Read more Travel Tips here

DIVE GEAR OF THE WEEK: WEEZLE BOOTS

Cold feet are a major complaint of divers. Weezle boots use the same innovative materials as used in their undersuits.

Instead of having an undersuit sock that finishes at the ankle, they are extended up the leg to just below the knee. This removes that annoying cold spot between the end of the undersuit and the beginning of the sock. Ankle weight wearers will find that this also adds a layer of comfort not featured in other undersuits and long legged people will avoid having a cold gap.

Editor's Note: I spent 12 hours diving in ice cold water in Alaska filming a movie recently and my feet were toasty the whole time. Quite unusual feeling for me.
