Amazing Thailand

Thailand is a wondrous kingdom, featuring Buddhist temples, exotic wildlife, and spectacular islands. Along with a fascinating history and a unique culture that includes delectable Thai food and massage, Thailand features a modern capital city, and friendly people who epitomize Thailand’s “land of smiles” reputation.

Bangkok
Cultural phenomenon, shopping heaven and tourist treasure; one of the most cosmopolitan, contrasting and, above all, compelling of Asian cities. A steamy, pulsating, yet smiling metropolis of more than ten million – intense at first, but addictive as anything. It is an urban jungle of dazzling temples, eclectic markets, gleaming palaces, ritzy shopping malls, a famous nightlife and the many things in between.

Phuket
Spectacular scenery, stunning tropical sunsets and warm blue sea awaits you at Asia's most popular beach destination. This fun island provides an unbeatable combination of perfect silky soft white palm-lined beaches and exciting eco-adventures in tropical forests, such as bar hopping on the back of an elephant.

The Similan Islands National Park is known for long white coral sand beaches, crystal blue waters, warm tropical nights and cooling breezes coming off the Andaman Sea. Nine Uninhabited islands with some of the best scenery in Thailand. Home to the best diving and snorkeling in Thailand, The Similan Islands are home to a huge variety of marine life and incredible opportunities to see rare and endangered species. Often referred to as one of the best dive spots in the world - you will probably agree after visiting. While the underwater world may attract some people - there are also many varieties of birds and animals on the Similan islands. And of course - the long beaches! Similan means nine or a group of nine islands. In 1982, this 128 square kilometers area was declared a marine national park, and in recent years this group of nine small islands has become one of the leading attractions for visitors to Southern Thailand.

Pawara Liveaboard Experience

The MV Pawara is one of the largest Similan Islands Business Class Liveaboards taking scuba divers to the best dive sites Thailand has to offer. The name "Pawara" is an old Thai Sansakrit word, which means "Treasures of the Corals". This is a modern Thai style liveaboard that was launched in 2006 after being custom designed and built in Phuket. She is extremely spacious boat and has great facilities. MV Pawara has ten twin berth cabins which all enjoy individual air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. She has a huge lounge and an air-con dining room, where five meals a day are served! The lounge is a great place to relax after diving and is well stocked with board games, as well as DVDs that can be watched on the entertainments system.

Similan Islands Itinerary (5 Days & 4 Nights / 14 Dives)

Day 1:  Pick-up times are arranged for around 3:30pm and guests are transferred to the Pawara at Tap Lamu just north of Phuket. Boat introduction formalities are completed before the Pawara departs for the Similans at around 6pm. Guests can enjoy a late dinner and relax on the outward cruise.
Day 2:  Four dives in the Similan Islands including a night dive.
Day 3:  One dive in the Similan Islands, before heading north to Koh Bon for a couple of dives. This is where there's a better than average chance to dive with Manta Rays. For the fourth dive the boat will move northwards to Koh Tachai.
Day 4:  The first dive could be at Koh Tachai, before sailing north to the famous Richelieu Rock for two or maybe three dives. If only two dives are scheduled at Richelieu Rock, the final dive of the day will be at Koh Tachai.

thailand Phi Phi Island, Thailand -after the tsunami I can actually say that I go home to Thailand. I am not really a farang. I lived there for two years in 2000 and 2001. Thai people refer to foreigners as “farang,” which comes with implied prices and treatment. However, while I worked as a scuba instructor on Phi Phi Island, I was fortunate to get to know the Thai people a little better than tourists on a brief vacation...
